The Family

There are many ways to define a family depending because of the different images people have on families. However, the best definition for a family is a group of individuals joined by blood, similarities or they share a home. Study shows that the perspectives of the society on the practices of the family are changing over a period that causes the creation of new types of families that did not exist. The difference in perspectives creates different structures of families such as divorced families and same-sex families. 

There are other factors that create differences in the structure of the family. One of these differences is the distinction in the social, economic status. The level of income affects the structure of a family since the members of different families have different pays (Hanson& Lynch, 2013).

Another factor that affects the families is the difference in race, ethnicity, and culture. These differences affect how people think and behave in the community. The culture of a person affects how a person thinks about a family. For example, some cultures do not accept same-sex families while others accept them. The exchange of ideas and concepts, when people with different cultures meet, create the changes observed in people’s perspective about families. The differences in the structures of families contribute to the success or the failure of a family. People learn from these experiences and develop the right way to sustain a good family. However, the individuals must be willing to listen to others, learn from them and change their ways to sustain a healthy marriage effectively. A family is an important unit in the society because healthy families create room for better parenting of the children. It is obvious that children that come from healthy families work hard to create and sustain healthy families (Hanson& Lynch, 2013).
