To Propose a Disaster Recovery Plan for an Organization

The task ahead that the researcher is aimed at providing an evitable success is to provide a good background for understanding the underlying disaster associated practices and core operations. The related aspects are relevant in building a proper disaster recovery plan as they provide the best understanding of the necessary practices that must be prioritized.
The iteration of the research project was implemented within a well defined sequentially plan that highlighted the major activities that the researcher was to get involved. The iteration was therefore achieved through the various steps outlined. In the initial segment of the project iteration, the researcher was defined with the task of identifying the relevant areas that research must get carried out. The process was defined with the objective of providing an understanding of what it takes to develop a disaster recovery plan.
Knowledge is an essential tool that matters when it comes to defining strategized plans. The subsequent segment of the iteration got the attentions of the researcher to outline the drawbacks of the initial iteration and provide the possible solutions so as to get a good flow of activities. The time was to take the shortest time possible as it will involve the process of brainstorming of the solutions.
The disaster recovery planning can only get achieved once the requirements are well defined and according to the proper understanding of the company framework of operations. Therefore, the third tier of the iteration will involve the researching and listing of the requirements that are ideal for supporting the preparation of the disaster recovery plan or the organization. The task acts as a determinant of the success of the subsequent activities since it provides an understanding of what is necessary to get integrated into the disaster recovery plan.
Before, the idea of developing a disaster recovery plan is drafted to a proposal; the researcher must have the understanding of the organization environment, operations alongside the possible risks and threats that the organization is exposed. In this case, the researcher will take the attention of defining the different possible disasters that occur within the business. Once the listing is done, the researcher will have the task of brainstorming about the possible actions and operations that can enable the organization to overcome the stated disaster. Therefore, the researcher will have to play a good role in making sure that the proposed solutions abide by the local, national and international standards of governance as far as information technology is concerned.
Once the activities are done as stated within the proposal, the researcher will have no otherwise but develop the possible plan which refers to the Disaster Recovery Plan proposal. The plan will aim at addressing all the mentioned disaster-related situations. As a matter of developing an applicable plan proposal, the researcher will have to refer to validated and verified case study based disaster recovery scenarios that will help in coming up with the relevant ideas that suit the organization. The project was implemented within the period of two weeks, and the actions were implemented according to the established sequence.
Action
The action phase of the iteration was interesting as it highlighted the implementation of the plan within the defined scope to make sure that the defined objectives are achieved accordingly. The researcher did begin the iteration implementation with the provision of responses to the drawbacks of the initial iteration. At this point, the researcher had the task of deterring the initial iteration limitation and providing the possible solutions.
The most disturbing issue was the time issue, and this was respondent with the increasing of the daily working duration to make sure that the follow-up iteration is done within the defined period. Other activities were to make sure that the entire process is confined to disaster recovery plan unlike the deviations observed in the initial iteration. The process was well achieved where the researcher was involved in a group brainstorming that resulted in the identification of the best solutions to the underlying challenges that the researcher faced in the initial iteration.
Having provided a clear preparation, the researcher then began by identifying the potential are of focus that research must get conducted. The identification was made through the engagement with the management of the organization who provided an understanding of the critical areas of the organization. On top of that, the researcher went around having an observation of the riskiest and vulnerable areas that must get focused on the disaster recovery plan.
The researcher after defining some of the critical areas of the organization went to another involving task of defining the requirements for the disaster recovery plan for the organization. At this point, the researcher had the obligation of studying the company framework that focused on providing the best understanding of what must get provided to safeguard it. The researcher considered reviewing the architecture of the company as far as the telecommunication and the information technology department operations were concerned. At this point, the researcher was to observe and obtain some information in regards to the measures put in place to safeguard the assets alongside the modes of responding to threat and risks associated with the assets.
The requirement definition also got the researcher through the process of interacting with the various stakeholders of the company Moreover, the management team, and the junior staff of the organization. During the one to one interview, the researcher asked the operations of the organization, the modes of safeguarding the critical assets such as data, the risks associated and threats and finally the measures they have put in place as a way of responding to disasters. The researcher did administer a questionnaire to obtain as much of information as it could.
The researcher went ahead, therefore, to highlight the possible risks and threats. The list was based on the information provided. The follow-up practice got the researcher in the practices of holding the group brainstorming session that aimed at providing the possible solutions to the highlighted disasters that are related to the organization. At this point, the researcher also did research from which was able to provide the possible responses to such like disasters. The iteration was finalized with the development of the disaster recovery plan proposal which contained a lot of information, and it required the coming up with a template that accommodates the information obtained from the entire process of discovering what is necessary for the disaster recovery plan for the organization.
Observation
Disaster recovery plan is a complicated document that every organization does input a lot of efforts and resources to make sure that it is developed according to the requirements of the organization. Therefore, this means that the developing team must understand very well the requirements of the organization. To have the best knowledge of the areas, one must understand the areas that a focus should be taken to obtain the necessary information. During the implementation of the iteration, it was observed that the critical areas such as the IT department that are concerned with the management of the data must be given the priority. The organization assets that is connected to the physical and local network must be given the priority followed with the supportive assets to the computer-based applications and devices (Waller, 2004).
As a way of preparing for the follow-up activities, the researcher was keen at obtaining the solutions for the issues that limited the full implementation of the initial iteration. It was observed that time aspect was to be given an alert as it sounded the most limiting factor even according to experts. The researcher was keen enough to have the iteration done according to the necessary standards, and it was defined that with the determination of the disaster recovery requirements. Based on the research, some of the key requirements included the risk analysis which was described as critical, the risk and threat identification which got a connection to the prevention measures that outlined the mode protecting the organization against the unnecessary activities (Saleem, Luis, Deng, Chen, Hristidis & Li, 2008).
After the definition of the disaster recovery plan requirements, the researcher was able to underline some of the risks and threats associated with the company. The most outlined disasters that may get the organization at the pace included but not limited to fire, floods, masquerading, intruding into the network, data stealing and compromising, stealing and hacking. It was noted that most of the risks and threats outlined rotated around the information technology department and therefore, it was necessary to prioritize the section in the disaster recovery plan template (Snedaker & Susan (2007).
Reflection
It was a great to provide a response to the drawbacks in the initial iteration. The idea well enhanced the understanding, and it provided a good direction on how to undertake the follow-up activities of initiating the program of developing a disaster recovery plan. The fact is that proper determination of requirements for a project always has the best deliverables. This was the principle of the researcher was quite dedicated to making sure that the requirements processes are done accordingly. The researcher got the process successful by the fact that got involved in one to one interviews, and more so the most interesting thing was the group brainstorming. The group brainstorming process was indeed the great way of generating as many ideas and opinions about the requirements that are ideal for a disaster recovery plan and this just made it a day for the task. It was essential that the researcher also undertook an interactive session with the organization different personnel. The most achievable and appreciating action was involving the junior staff who provided the good details about the most related threats ad risks of the organization.
As a matter of making sure that the organization is well understood, the researcher well thought of the various involving stakeholders that enabled the best understanding of the organization threats and risks. Otherwise, the iteration practices were achieved as expected and it is the appreciation of the laid down plan for the implementation of the same. Nevertheless, the iteration was limited in some way.
During the process of defining the requirements for the disaster recovery plan, the researcher got it had as the engaged respondents seemed to be biased as they took a focus on some specific sections of the organization instead of the entire organization. The researcher did respond by providing a general description of the objectives of disaster recovery plan, and the responses received impacted to entire the organization. Time was another limiting factor but the researcher increased the working time to 6 hours, and this saw the meeting of the daily target as far as the project activities was concerned.
The researcher at the point would have developed the disaster recovery plan proposal that will be waiting to get implemented. In common cases, each company does always develop its disaster recovery plan that meets its architecture and accordingly. Therefore, the researcher must make sure that it obtains a good understanding of necessary parts that must get given a good focus so as all the necessary details are captured. The achievement of obtaining the knowledge about the requirements for the disaster recovery plan, the threats and risks that the organization is subjected to paves the way for the process of developing the disaster recovery plan. The results get the researcher to the subsequent iteration of researching on the various parameters and templates that will suit the disaster recovery plan for the organization. Therefore, the need for implementing the subsequent third iteration was the role to get played by the researcher.
Iteration 3
Plan
At this point of implementing the action research project, the research had to provide a concrete plan for understanding the role of team players in the disaster recovery plan alongside the identification of the necessary parameters. The development of disaster recovery plan that meets the needs of an organization is outlined with the practices of getting equipped with the necessary knowledge and information pertaining the mentioned organization in the context. This third iteration of the action research project got the researcher with the task of making use of the internet as well as involving some experts for the purpose of having the best and advanced understanding of the disaster recovery plan template development. The iteration was implemented in various tiers where each division was defined with some objectives to obtain (Cerullo & Cerullo, 2004; Hawkins, Yen & Chou, 2000).
The initial tier of the process defined the appreciation of the information obtained from the second iteration, and at this point, the researcher was just defined with the task of outlining the essential knowledge that was relevant to the preparation for the development of the disaster recovery plan template. The approach that the researcher considered was to have private disaster recovery planning team that will aid in providing expertise about the best way to go about developing a relevant disaster recovery plan for the organization in mention. The segment was relevant as it sounded as training to the researcher to have an experience with the people who have the experience of developing disaster recovery plan templates. The following segment was a backup of the initial practice as the researcher had to outline the parameters that must get considered during the preparation of the efficient and reliable disaster recovery plan.
The iteration has a critical goal of making sure that the researcher must gain some knowledge and a good understanding of the various disaster recovery plan templates for a disaster recovery plan based on the given organization information. The process marked the second last division of the iteration where the researcher was defined with the duty of undertaking research. The researcher was conducted via the internet whereby the researcher did make use of the tutorials and online videos alongside the journals. The process was involving as the researcher had to come up with an approach to obtaining the relevant required information.
As a matter of boosting the level of understanding, the researcher once more did consider the identification of several experts from which got engaged in a collective discussion about the suitable parameters and best approach to developing a disaster recovery plan template. The tier marked the final process of collecting the required information and knowledge in regards to the best understanding of the disaster recovery plan template development. The iteration was finalized with the process of documenting all the obtained information that was to get applied in the final iteration of developing the disaster recovery plan template. The documentation was done with the reflection on an essential information that was ideal in meeting the organization expectation. The iteration was implemented within the defined period and activities were done in a sequential manner.
Action
The iteration was implemented within the defined scope of getting the researcher with the knowledge of understanding the different components of the disaster recovery plan template. The researcher was majorly defined with the task of researching about the disaster recovery plan parameters. The researcher began the task of appreciating the initial information obtained from the second iteration. The information was to get applied in preparation for the development of the disaster recovery plan template. The researcher was keen to keep an eye on the critical information that is relevant in delivering direction on how to develop an effective disaster recovery plan template.
The researcher went ahead to make sure of the internet where was confined with the task of researching o the components of that are ideal and relevant for an efficient disaster recovery plan. Before setting up the researcher, there was the selection of the team that was involved in studying the institutions privately to provide the necessary understanding of the disaster recovery plan template requirements. The team undertook its operations privately, and indeed it acted as a training phase to the researcher. The most apprehending aspect with the team was the discovery of the parameters that well provide the necessary understanding of what was to get integrated into the disaster recovery plan template.
During the implementation of the research via the internet, the researcher began by defining some objectives that outlined the things that were to take a focus as a matter of establishing a good understanding of the parameters that make up a disaster recovery plan. Different journals, video streaming, reading of blogs and PowerPoint presentation slides were the core practices of the researcher during the process. This process was necessary as it provided the information about the requirements that were essential in the development of the disaster recovery plan which was to get implemented in the subsequent iteration. The researcher finalized the iteration implementation by documenting all the important information that defined the parameters of the disaster recovery plan template.
Observation
The idea of interacting with the specialists during the private group discussion over the preparation for the disaster recovery plan development was constructive. The essence did enable the researcher to have the best understanding of what were the essential requirements for the development of eth recovery plan template. The private meeting was quite educative, and the researcher received the best knowledge that described the general disaster procedures. In whichever the case, institutions must have hot lines that whenever a disaster takes place, the immediate person must communicate the concerned personnel. This was the initial step that was defined as essential to experts in the sector of security (Bryson, Millar, Joseph & Mobolurin, 2002).
It was identified that the disaster recovery plan must have a prevention procedural outline that provides the directions from which the institution personnel should conduct themselves to make sure that objective operations are maintained. Therefore, prevention is an essential aspect that must be prioritized in the disaster recovery plan template. The research that the researcher had conducted outlined how the professional and experts were in for the aspect of disaster prevention.
About the disaster prevention, it was outlined that disaster detection must also get integrated within the organization to make sure that the prevention operations are set to an applicable risk or threat (Sahebjamnia, Torabi & Mansouri, 2015). Therefore, risk analysis was the core tricky that any person getting involved in defining and developing a disaster recovery plan template gets to implement and make it thorough in its implementation.
According to the discussion, there was the mentioning of the disaster recovery plan activation which outlined the basic implementation of the various core activities of the plan. It was noted that the plan activation takes to consider rather refer to the initial response if at all the underway risk had occurred before which is followed by the outlining o the recovery response provided. Once the initial recovery is made within the established scope of operation, the recovery team will have the duty of undertaking a full operation at the contingency site.
The involved action was majorly the recovery of the operation to the necessary state before the setting up of the restoring the initial operation of the organization to the normal state (Williamson, 2007). The recommendation as observed from the study focused on maintaining the disaster recovery plan to meet the current technological operations and trends which do make sure that the disaster recovery plan is up to date.
Reflection
In general, the interaction of objects directly always provides a good appreciation of understanding of the concepts that are underway. Based on the field of interest at this point, the researcher did play the right role of making sure there is alive and direct interaction with the different potential personnel and persons that have the best understanding of developing disaster recovery plan templates.
The idea was great as it provides the first-hand details of what should get considerate as well. The researcher got every action done appropriately, and this was due to the dedication and great concentration of making sure that the necessary understanding is relatively obtained. As a matter of making sure that the iteration implementation is achieved according to the stated standards, the researcher considered the review of the initial deliverables of the second iteration. Indeed the details were great as they provided the best understanding of how to handle the third iteration according to the expected level of professionals.
At all times privacy will remain something influential in creating the power of winning a success rather. The thought of establishing a private team to discuss the disaster recovery plan template was indeed great as it provided the understanding of the possible structure of the plan template. The practice just served as the brainstorming session for the researcher although it was beyond that since the involved parties were experts and they seemed to have provided the ideal and required information as far as disaster recovery planning template development is concerned.
Nevertheless, the researcher was just composed to achieve the objective of the iteration as it got a good dedication I undertaking the research. The research that involved the downloading of eth disaster recovery templates case based scenarios provided the best understanding of what was to get done according to the knowledge of the researcher. The researcher as well did the best consideration of undertaking the one to one meeting with the selection of the experts who purported to highlight and provide the final direction over the same area of study and research.
The iteration was implemented accordingly, and the defined objectives were achieved accordingly as determined in the initial stages. However, the action research project was limited in some other way such that some of the participants in eth private outlined groups ought to be biased, but the researcher had established a good background with a descriptive agenda that got them confined within the scope of discussion. Otherwise, the entire process was conducted accordingly, and it was great that things were achieved accordingly with the achievement of the defined objectives.
The researcher was in the right position to proceed on with the development of the disaster recovery plan template on the ground that the required resources had been obtained. This marked the introduction of the fourth and final iteration that is considerate on the deliverable of the third iteration.
Within the process, the researcher had the role of making sure that the necessary knowledge and information is obtained towards the best understanding of the possible plan that suits the disaster recovery practices for the organization. The materials sourced provided the necessary procedural understanding of how the final template was to get prepared. It is appreciated through the in-depth research that the researcher had conducted in the previous session that seemed to be influential as far as disaster recovery plan is such highly considered.
Iteration 4
Plan
This being the last iteration in the preparation of a disaster recovery plan proposal for an organization, a well- structured, simple to understand and the clear plan had to be formulated by the researcher to achieve the aimed objectives. The researcher had to keenly consider all the parameters in disaster recovery template preparation at this stage.
The documented data in the previous iterations were supposed to be analyzed by experts. The fourth iteration was implemented in a sequential manner following the defined tiers that outlined the activities that a researcher was to get engaged throughout the entire process of developing disaster recovery plan for the organization mentioned (Zalewski, Sztandera, Ludzia & Zalewski, 2008). This would lead to formulation of the valid observations after
In the initial division of the action research project, the researcher had the task of undertaking an analysis of the requirements for developing the disaster recovery plan, alongside the finding of the facts that will make the plan suitable alongside the reconceptualization. The task was actual the initial component that was defined within the disaster recovery plan template proposed.
According to the international standards requirements of establishing and development policies, principles, processes and programs; require a clear definition of the activities and the objectives that the concerned parties would aim at achieving. In the second segment of the iteration, the researcher had the task of defining a plan. To come up with a relevant concrete plan, the researcher was supposed first of all to understand the specific operations in the particular organization clearly. This will help in coming up with a plan that directly addresses the desired organization’s issues.
Critical assets of an organization remain a mandatory subject of understanding in the researcher’s knowledge. The researcher had to familiarize with the assets of the organization to make a conclusion on the various risks and threats affecting the assets within the organization. After identifying the specific threats and risks that affect the assets within the organization, the researcher was to come up with measures to curb these threats and risks.
In the subsequent segment, the researcher would get involved in implementing the brainstormed measures of curbing the organization against the associated risks and threats. At this point, the researcher will come up with various case studies that will get used for the implementation of the measures. During the acting phase, the researcher had the tricky of making sure that the measures and practices associated with the disaster recovery plan template get implemented in the so called the testing phase of the same.
The follow-up tier was the keen observing of the happening with the operations in the initial phase of implementing the proposed project measures of responding to risks and threats associated with the company. At this point, the researcher was keen to make an observation on the possible limitations associated with the proposed measures of responding to identified disasters within the mentioned organization.
Having done the necessary and meeting the requirements according to the definition in the initial phase of the iteration, the researcher had to go ahead and provide a reflection. The reflection phase defines the identified limitations and strengths of eh disaster recovery plan template alongside the provision of proposed revision that will see getting a standardized and effective disaster recovery plan that meets the requirements of the organization mentioned. Therefore, the iteration was finalized with the production of the final disaster recovery plan based on the details and facts found as far as the organization operations and resources available are concerned.
Action
The fourth marked the final phase of implementing the action research, and the researcher was involved in the process of developing a real-time disaster recovery plan template for eth organization. The operations were dependent on the initial activities did since it was the final document. The researcher began implementing the disaster recovery plan template by identifying the core components of the template which were to get implemented selectively and separately. The initial phase got the attention of the researcher deviated to the practices of analyzing the requirements for the disaster recovery plan which majorly included the operations of the company alongside the possible needs that can get identified by the then. At this point, the practices were extended towards obtaining the facts about the organization and what it takes to make sure that the template meets the objectives of the company.
The researcher was so keen to make use of the knowledge and information obtained from the initial operations. The subsequent operation included the planning phase that was a little involving and demanding. During the planning phase, the researcher had to identify how the disaster recovery plan template can get executed alongside the precautions to get considered. The researcher thereof went ahead to have a better understanding of the organization operations as a way of preparing for the process of determining what should get integrated into the disaster recovery plan template.
The segment of the iteration was further implemented by moving to an essential session. The session was defined as the determination of the resources and assets that are vulnerable to the disaster attacks as well as obtaining necessary information about the ways of providing security too the assets. The iteration phase was a little demanding, but the researcher had no otherwise but meets the requirements. The phase was finalized with the determination of the possible threats and risks that e organization identified resources and assets are subjected. The action just opened ways for the subsequent process of a brainstorming session about the measures that are suitable for curbing on the threats and risks.
The researcher got to the third component of the disaster recovery plan template which was the action that described the execution of the proposed measures. At this point, the researcher considered the option of creating some case studies from which the proposed measures were implemented to provide the required solution. Indeed, the approach was promising as the researcher was practically responding to the scenarios that represented the disasters identified for the mentioned organization.
The key action was to implement the measures outlined as a way of curbing on the determined risks and threats. The phase works in close relationship with the follow-up component of observation. In the observation phase of the disaster recovery plan, the researcher had the role of having a keen observation of how the measures implemented curbed on the certain threats and risks within the case study handled (Asgary, Anjum & Azimi, 2012). The other potential and ideal thing were the determination of the measure strengths alongside the limitation. The process provided the good understanding of the possible improvement that will get considered for making sure that the disaster recovery plan is effective and suitable for the organization.
The final session of the iteration of outlining the component of the template was the reflection of all the activities done and observations made. Ideally, the phase was defined with the objective of making sure that the proposed improvements can impact positively to the template towards making sure that the disaster recovery plan is suitable for the organization. Therefore, the researcher had to determine if the proposed improvements were really and if it was possible to get them integrated.
Observation
The researcher well developed and implemented the disaster recovery plan template within the defined scope of meeting the organization objectives. The processes involved were implemented according to the established processes and procedures. The initial observation was that a concrete disaster recovery plan template should contain the component of analysis, fact finding as for the initial considerate phase.
Planning must mark a critical position of making sure that the researcher rather the developer has a good understanding of the organization background. It was well defined that planning phase defined the practices of examining the organization to have a better understanding of the organization operational architecture and framework (Bodnar & Hopwood, 2001). At the same time, the underlined duties within the phase included the determination of the risk and threats that were associated with the organization alongside the determination of the possible measures that can be implemented within the organization. The planning phase can be described as the building block of the disaster recovery plan template.
The researcher developed a process and plan of implementing the activities associated with the implementation of the activities mentioned within the planning phase, and indeed they provided the best understanding of the underlying concepts. It got observed that the best way of defining a suitable measure that well curbs a given threat must get tested accordingly to make sure that the desired objectives re-achieved according to the established and defined objectives of the organization.
Nevertheless, the researcher learned of the procedures of developing measures that are indeed suitable for the organization as far as the development of the disaster recovery plan template is concerned. The other informing phase was the step of undertaking the real-time implementation of the measures which required good commitment (Alhazmi & Malaiya, 2012; Webb,  Tierney & Dahlhamer, 2002).
Ideally, according to the information obtained, data is an essential asset that must get prioritized in the disaster recovery plan as some other resources and practices are depended on the availability of data. According to the reviewed journals and details from the experts, encryption and backup should get considered as the major measures of curbing of the data that is prone to compromise by the intruders.
Within the disaster recovery plan, it was identified that the components outlined were appropriate to outline the possible measures that can well provide the best understanding of the critical areas that must get included within the disaster recovery plan. Subsequently, it got noted that during fact finding, the process should get done within the scope of meeting the objectives of the organization and getting confined to the ethical conduct defined for the organization.
Reflection
The entire process of implementing the disaster recovery plan template was well done by the fact that an essential activity of testing the plan was given a sort of prioritization. At the same time, the testing was majorly done through the development of real-time case studies that adopted the current technological trends within the organization. Ideally, the researcher was in the position to define more and more about the critical asset of data that is important for the company operation and general development. During the planning phase of the disaster recovery plan, the researcher was well informed on how to identify risks and associated threats alongside the procedures that can get considered during the determination of the measures that can be appropriate for the curbing of the technical risks and threats.
The entire process of developing the disaster recovery plan template was quite involving and was limited to the time factor such that the researcher was not such informed in some fields. The relevance of the ideas required some time to undertake an in-depth research that indeed consumed a lot of time. The researcher was keen enough to make sure that the planning phase of the process integrates the proposal of working extra times to meet the time scope of each and every task mentioned.
At the same time, the fact-finding process was just hard to meet the necessary objectives by the fact that the requirements identified were limiting. However, it was realized that there was the need for revising the disaster recovery plan template for the organization on a regular basis so as to ease the finding of new facts about the possible threats and risk that are associated with the organization.
Research Summary
Organizations are involved in different operations that are never 100% secure. It is known that every business is subjected to certain threats and risks, some that have the human control and others that depend on the nature. However, it is not a matter of worrying instead there the need of developing a concrete plan that highlight the risks and threats alongside the measures of getting them handled rather controlled a required.
This is the disaster recovery plan template which is descriptive in its structure. The need got the attention of the researcher to come with a study that aimed at providing a clear understanding of the basic requirements and functions that a disaster recovery plan can deliver. This involved the structural development of the study that resulted in the later development of the disaster recovery plan template. The project was implemented in four distinctive iterations outlined.
According to the first iteration, the research was to be carried out to identify the basic requirements that are essential for planning a disaster recovery. The interaction with few real-time experts got scheduled in this iteration which was to help get the better understanding about the various disaster recovery plans that are usually adopted by different organizations.  Information about the infrastructure of the organization to which the disaster recovery plan was being prepared was gathered.  Few sample plans were examined with the help of internet. The first iteration was scheduled for two weeks, and it involves the tasks mentioned above to perform.
With the help of the information gathered in iteration 1, identification of the areas where more research was carried out.  Drawbacks from the first iteration were identified.  A list of requirements that supports the disaster recovery planning was prepared.  Different disasters that are possible to occur are listed, and the same was communicated to the teams associated with the respective departments so as to discuss the vulnerabilities and take suggestions to overcome a disaster and prepare a possible plan to address such situations.  For this, different case studies can be used as a reference.
In the third iteration, research was scheduled on some of the private disaster recovery planning teams, and the parameters that were relevant for preparing of an efficient recovery plan are identified.  Internet did serve as one of the best sources for gaining some knowledge on various templates of a disaster recovery plan through which ideas can be drawn from the current organization.  Peer-reviewed articles and journals were researched which did serve as a vital source for planning disaster recovery. It was a good practice to document all the researched work. Making notes would support recollection of the gathered information.
In the fourth iteration, a disaster recovery template was prepared by considering all the parameters such as cost analysis, resources, and infrastructure.  The designed plan was demonstrated as an action research project to get a feedback which helped in making improvements.  Considering the feedback obtained, this action research project was to get suggested to the organization to be implemented in the business process.
