works of art.

Introduction
The Greek art has been evolving to feature a blend of stylistic conventions that were used to communicate issues and events via the works of art.  Art has evolved from the Orientalizing period to the geometric to the archaic period where there were several tools and methods of design used in the sculptures that were being formed.  What the Corinthians came with technique is known as the black-figure painting in the Orientalizing period, and the art spread throughout Greek and artists came to develop uniquely Greek images.
In the geometric period, the artistic works confined themselves to representations as well as repetitions’ of shapes instead of a more realistic work as in the earlier periods.  The art age, on the other hand, emerged from the Dark Age as well as the Geometric period’s last vestiges. While the arts from these periods have many similar features, there are also some distinctions between them.
In the orientalizing and the Geometric periods,   animal sculptures were very rare while in the archaic period, there was the introduction of the human sculptures. In the orientalizing period, vase painting was commonplace whereby the artists used lotus blossoms and palmettes rather than geometric patterns in filling the space even though the negative space of some vessels was prominent. It was a period characterized by black figure painting. The black figure pottery had a careful construction and firing in three different times, resulting in unique red and black colors of each vase.  The items from the Orientalizing period shows that the black color is coming from a slip that is painted onto vases and then incised lines are drawn in the outline as well as the details of the figures.  The figure also entails some white and red pigments for the purpose of adding more color to the figures or differentiating the details. The figure from the Orientalizing period also demonstrates that the original color of the pigments is red-orange.
The figure from the geometric period demonstrates a painting that takes place on ceramics. The figure shows that the art of this period majorly entailed the drawing of vessels just like the Orientalizing period.  The period highly relies on the geometric patterns and shapes to depict the vessels being developed.  The drawings in the Geometric period demonstrate a skillful technique of developing the vessels because details are clear, and the geometry is duly followed.  The decoration on the entire vessel shows the use of horror vacui. The figure from this period comprises of single and continuous lines of that take in a recurring manner.   The styles in this case, just like in the Orientalizing period are known as horror vacui.  The body of the artwork contains the main idea or message that the work is trying to pass across.
In the case of the Geometric period, the scenes belong to the funerary aspects of the pot, and they may show mourners, a ritual relating to mourning or funerary procession and games.  In all the cases in the periods in question, the works are created by bronze so as to give the smooth architecture that can be observed from the pictures shown in the document.  In the Geometric period and the subsequent periods, the arms of a human sculpture do have the shape of a cylinder except the feet that seem to take a more natural shape.  Besides the cylindrical depictions that are prevalent in the Geometric era, there were also other motifs that are observable such as the swastika, zigzag triangle, and meander.  The liner designs are the most prevalent styles used in this Geometric period.  The decoration on the necks and bellies are the ones that are decorated as they properly provide the greatest liberty needed for decoration, and they emphasize the tall dimension of these vessels.
In the figure of the archaic period shown overleaf, the archaic period consisted of a more realistic representation of human beings. Rather the artists having only the feet being highly naturalistic, all the parts of the body of the human are naturalistic as who in the images that are drawn on the body of the figures represented.  The way the art has been created, its shows the evolution of the artistic skills that must have been prevalent in the archaic period.  The figures in the archaic period have been carved from marble.  That is about the others such as those from the Geometric and the Orientalizing periods that are curved mostly from bronze.  The painting on vases in the archaic period has evolved from the vases of the Geometric period to the most realistic representations of human figures.  The figures from this period depict the logic and Doric architecture that helps in clear representations of more realistic objects than in the subsequent periods.  The color used in this case is black and not orange-red as in the case of the Orientalizing period.
The red figure painting, as well as the black figure painting in the archaic period, seems to dominate the pottery figures of the age.  But it seemed that the red must have taken from the black figure painting because black would not provide a clear distinction of the details in the shapes.  The red colored figures in the archaic period also have a black background, a clear demonstration that the color red figures must have taken from the black ones.  From the archaic black and red figures, it can be seen that the outlines of the figures musty have been drawn with a blunt scraper that left a rough groove. The contours seem to have been drawn after the painting of the groves, but the original sketches remain visible.   Here is a clearly protruding outline on the shapes of the archaic period as well as the shapes of the other periods whereby the less vita1l lines are must have been drawn suing diluted glossy clay.
All the objects from the periods demonstrate a smooth architecture in with some images of other objects or human beings drawn on them.  There are also handle on the shapes, and that shows that the artists had in mind that the objects would be held by humans.  Throughout that period, it seems that not much had changed because the later periods seems to borrow from the ideas of the earlier artists.  Later artist seems to have borrowed heavily from the earlier artists, and it is slight changes that took place while many features were maintained in these periods.  The forms of a painting of the objects seemed to have used similar objects such as feathers so as to come up with the shown smooth surfaces.  Although different materials for the scratching of rubbing might have been sued, the resulting architecture is all the same.  The issue of color cannot be said to be a big difference among the objects because it is only am a matter of changing color just as items can have different colors according to the interest of the developer.
The shapes demonstrate the cultures that were prevalent in all the periods because of the different lifestyles depicted on the objects. For instance in the Geometric and the archaic objects, there are animals or human beings on the objects that seem to be carrying out some actions. They also depict the things that the people of those times loved, for instance, almost in all the periods, the objects show that the people might have loved animals and birds.  That is because those animals and birds are drawn to the shapes.  There must have been associations with the pottery also in these periods because all the shapes were shown and most of the shapes found in these periods are for pots.  Pots must have been the most common objects of the time.
Conclusion
The objects from the Orientalizing, the Geometric and the archaic period have many things in common. The architectures, the shapes themselves and the much of the painting seemed to resemble. The ideas depicted in all the objects are the same and that makes us conclude that perhaps the artists in the later period must have borrowed the ideas from the earlier writers.  The artist must have begun from the available objects to have a diversity of the shapes.
